Program Note
Psalm 67 (2004) is a 10-minute work for SATB divisi chorus, soloists and organ, was commissioned and premiered by The Seraphim Singers of Boston and includes English and Hebrew texts. Dorman writes, “The music is inspired by traditional prayer styles that I am particularly interested in: the melodic structures for the English setting are inspired by Byzantine chants, and the ones for the Hebrew setting by cantillations of Armenian Jews.”
